CITYWIDE — Popcorn fans can celebrate Garrett Popcorn Shops’ 75th anniversary with $1.75 bags of their signature flavors, available for a limited time as part of a special promotion.

Between 1 and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday this week, fans can pop into any Garrett shop to purchase a small bag of their favorite popcorn — like CaramelCrisp, CheeseCorn and the Garrett Mix, a blend of those two — for just $1.75, according to a news release from the company. The offer is limited to one bag per person per transaction.

The celebration continues next week from Sept. 16-22, when Garrett will offer a Classic Tin filled with any signature recipe for $19.49 in its shops. Both promotions aim to thank loyal customers while introducing new fans to Garrett’s handcrafted, small-batch popcorn, the company said in a news release.

Garrett Popcorn Shop opened in 1949 at 10 W. Madison St. in Chicago. Founder Gladys Otto Garrett developed the original recipes in her home kitchen, and those same recipes continue to be used today, featuring real ingredients and traditional cooking methods. Over the years, Garrett has expanded to more than 50 locations worldwide.

Fans across the U.S. can also join in on the celebration by visiting Garrett’s website, where special promotions will rotate throughout the month. These online offers include discounts on Classic Tins, 75-cent shipping and a complimentary bag of the new White Cheddar recipe with select purchases.
